2025 International Promotion: Business Text Analytics Using AI– Event Report

This was the second international outreach briefing organized by the Text Mining and Digital Transformation Service Industry-Academia Alliance, themed “Business Text Analytics Using AI: A No-Code Solution held.” The event highlighted the Alliance’s core technology—the Tarflow Text Analysis Workflow Platform—and fostered exchange on the latest applications of artificial intelligence in business text analytics. The target participants were NSYSU’s international alumni and representatives from its international partner universities. Special thanks go to Ms. Hsin-Yu Lin, Professional Manager at the NSYSU College of Management Career Development Office, who facilitated the event by coordinating and inviting international alumni and partner representatives interested in text mining technologies.

The session was designed to be accessible and easy to follow, giving participants an introductory understanding of text analysis through practical case demonstrations. A total of 26 participants joined the event, representing Japan, Austria, the United Kingdom, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and Taiwan. The online format connected participants across different cities, bringing together both academics and industry professionals for an all-English discussion, helping extend the reach of the text analysis platform to an international audience.

In her introduction, Ms. Lin presented the mission of the NSYSU College of Management, which since its establishment in 1984 has been dedicated to cultivating talents with strong capabilities in both management and data science. Through the Alliance, the College collaborates with universities and industry partners worldwide to promote digital transformation and the application of AI technologies, while providing members with practical tools and professional training.

The event then continued with opening remarks by Professor San-Yih Hwang, the Alliance’s convener. He noted that traditional text analysis often requires programming skills in Python, R, or Java, posing high entry barriers and risks of being time-consuming and error-prone. By contrast, the Alliance’s text analysis platform eliminates the need for programming, enabling users to complete analysis tasks through a drag-and-drop interface.

The platform offers significant advantages in work and research—saving time, reducing costs, and fostering innovation. It integrates the full process of data collection, preprocessing, and visualization, and combines machine learning, deep learning, and generative AI technologies. Even users without programming backgrounds can efficiently conduct analysis. The platform supports multiple methods such as sentiment analysis and topic modeling, with applications in e-commerce review analysis, social media monitoring, news classification, and research literature trend analysis. It is truly a user-friendly tool accessible to all.

Following this, Ph.D. student Yi-Hang Tsai demonstrated how to design and execute a text analysis workflow on the platform without writing any code. Regardless of their professional background, participants could see how quickly one can get started and enhance productivity. Using a project case, he showcased a topic analysis task, retrieving relevant data and results that can help businesses better understand customer feedback, while also serving as a valuable reference for academic literature trend studies. Participants were also invited to apply for a two-week free trial account to experience the platform firsthand. The session concluded with a lively Q&A and experience-sharing, adding interaction and engagement to the event.

This international briefing not only promoted cross-border academic and industry exchange but also demonstrated NSYSU’s innovative strength in the fields of AI and business analytics. The NSYSU College of Management, together with the Alliance, will continue to advance collaboration and empower more research and industry applications through AI technologies.
