2025 Industry-Academia Alliance Briefing & Thematic Forum – Generative AI Across Industries: Event Record

Our alliance, in collaboration with the Taiwan Service Science Society, hosted the “Generative AI Across Industries” promotional briefing and thematic forum on the afternoon of March 31 at CM4069, College of Management, National Sun Yat-sen University. The event attracted 55 in-person attendees, with an additional 52 participants joining online.

The forum featured eight short talks, inviting representatives from Jetwell Computer, Taiwan AI Labs, GSS Information, Jinher Information, Zhi-He Technology, Hamastar Technology, iGroup International, and Monmouth Technology. They shared insights into the latest applications and business strategies of Generative AI across diverse industries, including finance, healthcare, marketing, food & beverage, education, the public sector, manufacturing, and project management.

The event began with an introduction by Professor San-Yih Hwang, the Alliance Project Leader and President of the Taiwan Service Science Society. He provided an overview of the alliance and its technological services, followed by an opening discussion on Generative AI.

Professor Hwang highlighted the rapid global investment growth in Generative AI, particularly in Large Language Models (LLMs), over recent years. However, challenges remain, such as how to effectively integrate Generative AI into businesses and how to empower employees to enhance productivity. As industries urgently explore its commercial applications, this forum was organized to address these critical issues.

The first speaker, Chiu Chia-Hsiung, Senior Consultant at Jetwell Computer, explored the evolution from Generative AI to Agentic AI, analyzing how AI is advancing beyond content generation toward autonomous decision-making and execution.

The second speaker, Feng Chan-Yi, Project Manager at Taiwan AI Labs, introduced FedGPT, a proprietary Large Language Model (LLM) developed for various industries. His talk covered its applications in healthcare, finance, and education, highlighting its transformative impact across different sectors.

The third speaker, Li Chien-Hsiang, Deputy Director at GSS Information, focused on Generative AI in marketing, discussing how AI can automate content creation, analyze consumer behavior, and enhance business operations.

After a networking break, the fourth speaker, Su Cheng-Jung, General Manager of Jinher Information, discussed the applications of Generative AI in smart dining, demonstrating how AI can enhance data analytics and customer service in the food and beverage industry.

The fifth speaker, Li Chung-Hsuan, General Manager of Zhi-he Technology, examined Generative AI in manufacturing, analyzing how AI can boost production efficiency, optimize industrial processes, and drive innovative business models.

The sixth session focused on digital transformation in the public sector, presented by Chang Yen-Wen, Project Manager at Hamastar Technology. He showcased case studies on AI applications in government, illustrating how AI can support policy analysis and improve public services.

The seventh speaker, Hung Chung-Yang, CTO of iGroup International, explored the role of Generative AI in education, explaining how AI can automatically generate teaching materials and learning content, thereby enhancing education quality and real-world applications.

The final speaker, Chen Wei-Liang, General Manager of Monmouth Technology, demonstrated Generative AI’s role in collaboration platforms, explaining how AI can streamline internal enterprise communication, automatically integrate meeting minutes into project management systems, and ensure traceable action items.

This forum not only showcased the profound impact of Generative AI across various industries but also served as a valuable platform for in-depth discussions between businesses and technology experts. Moving forward, the alliance will continue to advance Generative AI development, foster interdisciplinary collaboration, and assist enterprises in accelerating digital transformation—paving the way for a new era of AI-driven intelligent applications.
