A Decade of Academia–Industry Collaboration: ASE and Academic Partners Pioneer New Milestones in Smart Manufacturing and Sustainability
This event marks the presentation of the industry–academia collaboration between the Alliance and ASE Technology Holding Co., Ltd., with the project titled “Security AI Knowledge Management System.”
On September 26, ASE grandly hosted the 10th Automation Project Achievement Presentation. Over the past decade, 68 collaborative projects with academia have propelled ASE into a leading model of smart manufacturing and digital transformation. Continuing its commitment to innovation, ASE has launched 11 forward-looking projects this year in partnership with professors from National Sun Yat-sen University, National Cheng Kung University, National Tsing Hua University, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, and National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology. These initiatives focus on smart manufacturing, sustainability, and information security, setting a new benchmark for intelligent semiconductor factories and driving future industrial advancement.
Dr. Li Chih-Peng, President of National Sun Yat-sen University, remarked that a decade of consistent collaboration has built deep mutual understanding and expressed hope for even stronger partnerships with ASE in the years ahead.
Representing NSYSU’s College of Management, Professor Hung San-Yih, who also serves as the project’s principal investigator and Alliance convener, delivered the presentation. The project was executed by Ph.D. candidate Tsai Yi-Hang and a dedicated student team who have worked with ASE for many years. By integrating the Alliance’s core technologies with Large Language Models (LLM), the team developed an intelligent system capable of prediction and simulation, enabling access to accurate data and real-time decision support—significantly boosting ASE’s operational competitiveness.
